Pain crushes your creativity. It is almost impossible to focus on your calling when your body is in pain. Acute pain is difficult. Chronic pain torments you. It is difficult to think. It is hard to be fully present and lovingly engaged with people. Pain distracts us, interrupts our rest cycles, and throws our hormones out of balance. This interferes with our ability to meet our responsibilities and complete tasks. Rather than entering into joyful opportunities, pain must be pushed through just to endure.
I just prayed this prayer over you:
“Pain, loose your grip on this body. Release the tension you have created in these muscles and the frazzled endings on these nerves. You have diverted energy and distracted this mind long enough. This vessel is meant for greatness. It has an assignment to complete and a purpose to fulfill.
“I command you (pain) to be silent. To release your hold on this body and leave now. I invoke the powerful and precious blood of Jesus—blood that heals, delivers, and saves. Sickness, you must flee. Disease, you must go. Injury, you must mend in Jesus’ name.
“Now I command increased circulation, increased oxygen, quieted nerves, relaxed muscles, and a calm spirit. I speak the peace of God into this body and command every cell to align with God’s original and perfect blueprint for you. Enzymes align. Hormones align. Inflammation abate.
“Every system in this body is called to attention now and commanded to function in harmony and operate in unity to restore, refresh, and replenish. Amen!”
Physical infirmity does not define you. Let God’s peace enter your mind. Take a deep, long breath and thank Jesus for the sacrifice that made your healing possible. For every increment of victory you experience, express your gratitude to God and testify of His mercy and power to others.
